🔥 CHEMISTRY JUST LIT UP—LITERALLY! 🔥
Our Chemistry students dove into the world of Salts and Flame Tests, and our lab turned into a glowing spectrum of science and color!
Using different salts, they observed how metal ions burst into unique flame colors—from radiant reds to brilliant greens—unlocking the secret of how electrons get excited and release energy as visible light. Every spark told a story at the atomic level!
Students also connected the dots between what they see (macroscopic flame colors) and what happens inside the atom, realizing that:
✨ Salts = cation + anion
✨ Cations (metal ions) control the flame color
✨ Anions sit this one out—they don’t affect flame color
From identifying unknown metal ions to understanding electron excitation and emission, my students didn’t just learn chemistry—they experienced it in full color.
Science is brighter when you let curiosity burn. 🔥
