They carefully explored and identified the different parts of the heart, explained the function of each structure, and connected it to how our own hearts work. Taking it a step further, they shared their knowledge with visiting elementary, middle school, and high school students — giving them the chance to see, hold, and feel an actual heart for a hands-on learning experience!

🍫🪨 The Rock Cycle… but make it CHOCOLATE! 🪨🍫
Our 7th and 8th Grade Science students brought the rock cycle to life in the sweetest way possible — using chocolate!
First, they grated the chocolate to create tiny pieces, modeling sediments. Then, they wrapped it in foil and pressed it tightly, forming their very own sedimentary rock — just like nature does through compaction and cementation.
Next came the transformation! With more pressure and heat, plus a book on top (and a little student power 💪), the chocolate changed again — turning into a metamorphic rock, showing how heat and pressure reshape rocks without melting them. 🔥
Finally, the ultimate change: they placed the wrapped chocolate on a hot plate, melted it completely, and let it cool — forming an igneous rock through cooling and solidification. 🌋
From sediments → sedimentary → metamorphic → igneous, our students didn’t just learn the rock cycle — they experienced it! Science never tasted so fun (or looked so cool)!
