Our Grade 10 Biology students turned the classroom into a restaurant as they prepared delicious meals packed with the 4 major macromolecules—carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids!
Beyond making each plate restaurant-worthy, they identified the elements, functions, and importance of each macromolecule in keeping the human body fueled, growing, and functioning.
Because sometimes, the best way to learn Biology is to prepare it, plate it, taste it, and understand the science behind it!
This Friday- 9/25 or "9 to 5" is Dolly Parton Day! Dress like Dolly, and if you have a new or gently used children's book that you no longer want, send it with your student to school to be donated to our school library or our town library!

Through this hands-on activity, students witnessed how butane reacts with oxygen, producing carbon dioxide, water, and energy in the form of heat:
2C₄H₁₀ + 13O₂ → 8CO₂ + 10H₂O + heat
It’s one thing to learn chemical reactions from a lesson—but it’s another to see chemistry happen right before your eyes!
Experiments like this turn concepts into experiences, helping students connect what they learn in the classroom to the science happening around them.
