🧪 Science got colorful in the lab today!

Our Physical Science students explored the fascinating world of Acids and Bases by testing the pH levels of different household liquids using a universal indicator. From bright reds (strong acids, pH 1–3) to deep purples (strong bases, pH 12–14) — every color told a story about the substance’s chemical nature!

They didn’t just stop at the colors — our young scientists also learned how to calculate pH and pOH, and determine the H⁺ and OH⁻ ion concentrations behind each reaction.

It was a day filled with discovery, curiosity, and a splash of color — proving that science is not just about numbers, but about seeing chemistry come to life! ⚗️

In science, the first graders had fun learning that sound is made by vibrations! We built a mini guitar from a Kleenex box, rubber bands, and pencils and watched the rubber bands vibrate and buzz to make different sounds. The students loved coming up to play the instrument in front of classmates!

🚀💨 Physics Takes Flight! 💨🚀

Our Physics students launched learning to new heights with their pump rocket project! Using nothing but a bottle, water, and compressed air, they demonstrated Newton’s Laws of Motion in action.

When the rocket was released, the compressed air pushed the water out of the nozzle, and the ejected water mass produced thrust, sending the bottle soaring upward. This perfectly shows Newton’s Third Law — for every action, there’s an equal and opposite reaction — while also illustrating acceleration and force in motion.

Students cheered as theory met reality, proving that learning physics can be thrilling and hands-on!

The first graders each chose an animal to research, wrote an informational report about it, and shared their findings with the class as part of our informational research unit. They loved becoming “animal experts” and teaching their classmates what they learned!

When Chemistry comes alive! Our Physical Science students brought science to life as they explored the different types of chemical reactions through fun, hands-on experiments! 🔥

They observed how ethanol reacts with oxygen in the Sink Fire Experiment, producing carbon dioxide and water — a perfect example of combustion in action. 💨 Meanwhile, the Lava Lamp Experiment amazed everyone with an acid-base reaction between Alka-Seltzer, sodium bicarbonate, and water, creating colorful bubbles of CO₂ that danced like magic!

Other exciting activities like the Exploding Bag and Carbonated drinks with Sodium bicarbonate reactions also showed how chemistry can fizz, pop, and surprise — proving that science is not just learned, it’s experienced! 💥
